United States: President Trump plans to sign executive orders right after taking office. One will declare a “national energy emergency” to increase energy production and lower costs. Another will focus on using Alaska’s natural resources to help the U.S. sell natural gas to countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
Why it matters: Trump also seeks to send an initial message of ‘Washington promises made, Washington promises kept’ — and a whole lot more welcoming to businesses of all sizes.
As reported by the Axios, those are the conditions that build the infrastructure, the conditions that compel investment, the conditions that induce job creation and the production of America’s natural resources and they result in lower prices for the American people,” an incoming White House energy adviser said.
“National security is a key issue here,” the adviser said. ” Energy is a core part of our foreign policy and less American energy means less exercise of our foreign policies.”
Some of the actions that Trump has taken to roll back Biden’s emissions policies could actually increase U.S. greenhouse gas emissions — or at least, offset low emissions growth.
The energy that flows into the data centers that are needed to power AI algorithms — and that are energy gluttons — are definitely on the incoming White House radar, as energy liberation is now on the presidential agenda.

It is believed that the emergency order will be directed at electricity generation. American electricity consumption has been steadily featured little to no growth over the last 15 years but is now increasing rapidly.
” We are in an AI race with the People’s Republic of China and other nations,” the incoming energy adviser said.
And it is basic that we can generate enough electricity domestically in order to win that race for our country’s sake.
The big picture: Trump’s team plans to scale back procedures that hinder construction of fossil fuel transportation infrastructure including pipelines. The new administration also is expected to overturn a suite of Biden-era policies:
A dramatic reduction in the frequency at which oil and gas leases are offered in the Gulf of Mexico and new bans in other coastal regions.
The American response to the DP Oil and Chemicals disaster has been a major slowdown of oil and shipping in the Gulf of Mexico and new bans in other coastal.
