United States: With support from Cosmopolitan magazine, The Satanic Temple has created a second abortion facility in the United States, this time in Virginia, where expectant mothers can participate in a self-focused “abortion ritual.”
The Satanic Temple wants to claim that abortion is a matter of religious liberty and that ending a pregnancy is a “spiritual” endeavor. Thus, they are manipulating abortion into a ritual. Abortion in Virginia is legal through the 27th week or second trimester of pregnancy.
The “Right to Your Life Satanic Abortion Clinic” will provide chemical abortions as a component of the “destruction ritual.” Samuel Alito’s mother’s clinic in New Mexico was the first ritual abortion clinic owned by the Satanic Temple, according to reports.
Everyone is provided with “free ceremonial support” and medical advice there. The goal of the “ritual” for women who have abortions is to “assert their right to bodily autonomy as a religious practice.”
Because the abortions are performed via telemedicine, the women seeking pregnancy terminations never interact with the healthcare providers.
As a defensive rite, the Satanic Abortion Ritual is a “destruction ritual.”
The Satanic Temple states that their goal is to eliminate any feelings of guilt, shame, or mental anguish that a patient may be going through as a result of their decision to have a safe and legal abortion.
The Satanic Temple provides free services, except abortion drugs, which must be purchased individually.
“While many clinics have been forced to shut down, we took a bold step forward by opening the world’s first religious abortion clinic on February 14th, 2023. Since then, we have proudly offered over 100 abortions in New Mexico at no cost to patients aside from the medication,” the Temple attests.
A Supreme Court decision stating that access to abortion pills will be maintained nationally made abortion pills lawful in all fifty states.
As per certain reports, pills to induce abortion were approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2000, the first of which was approved to induce abortion up to seven weeks gestation and required three doctor visits to receive the drug.
In 2016, the FDA “relaxed” the regulations, allowing the medication to be used up to 10 weeks into pregnancy and lowering the requirement to a single in-person doctor visit.
In 2019, a generic version was approved, and by 2021, there was no need for an in-person visit. This allowed the medication to be prescribed via telehealth and mailed to any location in the nation for women to self-administer.
The Supreme Court upheld this in 2023, determining that pro-life groups did not have standing to sue to prevent it.
Contraceptive pill usage carries some risk. If the fetus is not ejected completely, a woman may die from serious complications such as sepsis.
This occurred in two well-known examples that the Kamala Harris campaign utilized to support the federal legalization of abortion as well as increased access to abortion services.
The Satanic Temple, which was established during the George W. Bush administration to obtain funds meant for community organizations with a religious focus, has provided a guide on how to perform a ritual abortion.
It refers to the abortion procedure as a “destruction ritual.” It makes no mention of any possible hazards or medical issues that could result in the mother seeking pregnancy termination and dying.
Reportedly, the Satanic Temple recommends that women secure “A quiet space where you feel comfortable; Something that allows you to see your reflection or imagine yourself; copy of The Satanic Temple’s Third and Fifth Tenets and the personal affirmation.”
Those tenets are:
“One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone,” “Beliefs should conform to one’s best scientific understanding of the world.”
“One should never distort scientific facts to fit one’s beliefs. The “personal affirmation” reads, “By my body, my blood, By my will, it is done.”
The Satanic Temple conducts after-school groups for kids and displays Christmas decorations with statues of Satan in addition to performing ritual abortions.
Often, the Satanic Temple files lawsuits against school districts to compel them to provide room for their Satanic kid’s clubs.
What are your thoughts on how the Satanic Temple claims that abortion is a matter of religious liberty and that ending a pregnancy is a “spiritual” endeavor?
